Choosing the theme and writing the credits is only the first step in creating an amazing trailer. Next you’ll need to edit the titles and add your own footage.

iMovie makes it easy to add suitable video content. Each clip of the trailer includes a small thumbnail graphic that depicts what type of shot it is. For example, the thumbnail for an action shot displays a man running, and a close-up shows a face.

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to edit the trailer titles, add your own videos and save the trailer. It’s surprisingly easy, and produces great results.

1. Edit the titles

Each title has a blue marker line written through it. Tap on the first title at the top of the screen and edit the text using the keyboard. Tap the Done button on the keyboard to confirm the edit.

2. Initial video clip

Tap on the first video clip thumbnail, then select a video from the Media Library that appears on-screen. The trailer clip is only a few seconds long, so drag the yellow selection bar along the video timeline until you find a section suitable for the trailer.

3. Edit a shot

If you add a video to the trailer but wish to edit the timing of the clip, simply tap on it, then adjust the selection portion using the yellow outline in the Media Library window.

4. More titles and clips

Continue editing the titles and adding clips, working your way through the trailer. You’ll see changes appear in real-time in the video preview window.

5. Record a video clip

To record a new video clip and add it to the trailer timeline, tap a thumbnail, then tap the Camera icon. Next, tap the Record button and wait for the 3-second countdown to end. iMovie will now record a video clip and add it to the trailer.

6. Remove a clip

To get rid of an unwanted video clip from the trailer timeline, simply tap on it, then hit the Remove button.

7. Export a trailer

Once all the video clips and titles have been entered, tap the My Projects button near the top of the screen. Ensuring the trailer is centered, tap the Export button and choose a suitable output.

Steps to make Slow motion video in iPhone and iPad:

Step 1

Start iMovie, Open new project as video in iMovie that you want to make slow object video.

Step 2

From your screen, Tap on Speed modulation icon like speed meter.

Step 3

Now you can see two controls first one is yellow bar on frame. And second is slider.

Yellow region can be expanding by dragging it. So Place on that frame which you want as slow motion portion.
Slider can helps to make your object movement speed. To increase speed you have to drag it from left to right.

Other options are Freeze, Add and reset in the same screen.

From this screen you can also cut frames means remove portion of video easily by tapped on scissors icon.

Note: For take live recording as slow motion video please use this free app for your iPhone and iPad compatible with iOS 6 and later. With this app you don’t make slow motion video in iPhone.

Many iOS users will want to know how they can place text, a phrase, or a word overlay atop of a video captured with their iPhone. This is a fairly common and basic video editing task that can be handled with the iMovie app on iPhone, though if you’ve never added text to a video before, and if you don’t have much video editing background (like myself), the whole editing process with iMovie can be a little bit confusing at first. Not to worry though, we’ll walk through each step, and demonstrate how to place text on top of a video using nothing but iMovie for iOS.

iMovie comes preinstalled on all modern iPhones, but can be downloaded from the App Store on older models as well. While this demonstrates putting text onto a video with iMovie on an iPhone, the process is presumably the same on iMovie for iPad or other iOS devices as well.

How to Put a Text Overlay Atop Video with iMovie, Entirely from an iPhone

The only requirements for this are that you have iMovie for iOS installed on the device, and a video you wish to edit. The rest is really easy:

Open the iMovie app in iOS
Tap on your ‘project’ (the movie you want to put text onto) – if you don’t have a project yet, tap the + button to import the video of your choice to edit, and then choose that as your project
Tap on the main project icon to open the project and edit the video
Now tap on the video timeline near the bottom of the screen, this will reveal the editing options available, then tap on the “T” icon to place text and access the text overlay tools in iMovie
Choose which text type you want and the location, in this example we’re choosing “Standard” and “Center” to put the text in the middle of the video
Tap into the text to edit or change the words on screen with the usual iOS keyboard
When finished, tap on the “<" back arrow button, then tap on the Sharing icon (it's a square with an arrow coming out of it) to save the video
Select “Save Video” to save the freshly modified video to your Photos app and camera roll, or choose iCloud Drive, Vimeo, Facebook, YouTube, or your choice

You can choose different video quality options to save; 360p, 540p, 720p, and 1080p, do note that the higher quality options, which look considerably better, also result in much larger file sizes, and thus the save time is a little bit longer too.

If you save the video from iMovie to your local library or iCloud, you can watch it, trim it, and share it directly from the iPhone like any other video from the Photos app

How to add title sequence in iMovie for iOS

To add a fun and informative element to your movie project, you can add a title sequence at the beginning -- or at any point of the video, for that matter.

To add a title, you will need to have started a movie project with at least one video clip in your timeline. Tap on the clip and then tap the "T" button below the timeline. Here, you will see nine different title graphics. The first title sequence listed is tied to the theme you choose for your movie project. It is the most colorful and graphically intense and offers options for Opening, Middle or Closing graphics. The other eight display white letters in a variety of styles with the option to have the title sequence appear in either Center or Lower position of your video.

To add your own text to a title sequence, tap on the dummy text in preview window and enter your own text.

By default, a title sequence runs for the length of the clip you add it to, which is probably not what you want. To stop a title sequence before the end of the clip to which it is attached, you will need to split the clip. Position the vertical white line in the middle of the timeline at the point in the clip where you want the title sequence to end. Next, tap the scissors button and then tap Split. Now, the title sequence will end at where you added the split, but your video continues through the split without interruption.

I should say your video will continue through a split without interruption if you don't trim the clip on either side of the split and don't add a transition element. If you want to add a transition graphic between two clips, tap the little box that got added to the timeline where you split your clip. You will see five different transition options for the split, plus four different time lengths for the transition, from 0.5 seconds to 2.0 seconds.

Lastly, you can include a sound effect when a title sequence starts and ends. By default, this effect is muted but you can unmute it. When you are choosing a title sequence, tap the mute button in the lower-right corner to unmute the sound effect
